This 2007 BECK Speedster was originally built in 2007. It is Indio Red with Whiskey Tan Leather interior. It was originally sold as a ROLLER (no engine) to our then California dealer.
They kept it in their inventory with the intent of making it an electric vehicle, which it never became. It stayed in their inventory uncompleted.
Fast forward to 2011 when a customer bought this roller from CA. and purchased a pair of Jake Raby engines that he found in someone’s inventory, unused. He had one installed into this BECK and sold the second one outright. This work is well documented in the extensive folder of the history of this BECK.
Subsequently the car was sold into Florida (2015), where it remained until being consigned for sale here at the factory in Indiana.
It has 21,848 Km (under 14,000 miles) currently.
This BECK is the epitome of a “no expense spared” build. The engine alone cost nearly $25K from Raby. 2,666cc’s, 175hp on the dyno. Stroke =80mm, Bore= 103mm,, 48mm intake valves, 38mm exhaust, 48mm Dellorto DRLA carbs, twin plug engine using eight NGK2145 plugs.
The ignition system is an HPV-1 from Electromotive Engine Controls. It is crank fired with no distributor. This engine runs on 92-93 Hi-Test fuel, no additives required.
Three additional gauges including:
Oil Temperature, Oil Pressure, and Cylinder Head Temperature. (Standard version monitors cylinder #3)
There is also a unit, made by Sensor Connection Model MPG-4 that monitors all 4 cylinder head temperatures added (2015) when it went into the warmer climate of Florida. A second oil cooler was also added at that time.
No bumpers, 4 custom made over riders.
