GTS
2011 Beck GTS
One of the last rollers built by Chuck and Randy out of the Georgia R&D shop before the project (and Randy) moved to the Indiana factory.
Shipped as a roller to Wayne Baker Racing (WBR) in San Diego.
WBR did the install of engine and trans, track set-up, and a handful of other modifications.
engine: 2L 911 built to a 2.5L twin plug, PMO carbs, dual MSD ignition, owner claims 270hp.
Original owner reports that the engine was torn down and resealed in 2020 when he decided to retire it as a race car and use it on the street only. It was then sold to the current owner who is selling for medical reasons.
trans: WBR built 901 side shift
trans is full flowed, with squirters on the ring gear and a trans cooler, cooler is ducted from the side vents and out behind the license plate area (same as Randy’s car)
BBS 3 piece lightweight racing wheels, milled Fuchs centers, new street tires. (these wheels cost nearly $7000 per set today)
stock brakes with street pads
full roll cage with added diagonal brace, no door bars
large rear spoiler, riveted on
fuel safe fuel cell
dual fuel pump system with surge tank
added front mounted oil filter and bypass (WBR)
oil dry sump relocated to right side (weight offset to driver)
lightweight battery relocated to the front
full fire suppression system
corner worker switch (main battery kill) plus interior kill switch
911 combination gauge (rebuilt by Palo Alto Speedo November ’23)
911 speedometer
We sent the original owner new seats a few years ago, which are currently installed int he car and were used to replace his fitted racing seat. Black leather with custom blue tartan inserts.. They are “street” seats from a Gen 2 550 spyder.
Non-standard items that have been added or changed
added rear chassis brace above trans (WBR added)
insides of doors gutted and cut open with cable release for door latch
lightweight plexi sliding windows, not factory plexi version
Tachometer was changed to a racing “Moto Meter” programmable version
all dash switches were changed to black toggle switches with quick reference labels
Paint is better than I expected for a track car. However, there are several rock chips “here and there” and a star crack above the driver’s head on the roof, 1″ paint chip in right rear wheel well, and signs of touch up likely from track rash… but the usual problem areas are all covered in paint protection film and it held up well. Of course, all of this can be taken care of prior to shipping if the new owner would like to do so.
Original owner painted the hood blue to match one of the original vintage race cars.
Seats are new as mentioned above. (They are the seats that Chuck Beck runs on the track, I find they don’t have enough bolstering for me, but they are much easier to get in and out of for street use.)
Carpet is good but not perfect. It is the older “silverknit” style carpet.
This can be a “ready to go” vintage race car for someone (just revert back to track tires) or a fun street car as well.
It is priced at $145,000 OBO.
